My colleagues at Mobile Phone Insurance Direct are often reminding me of my age, much to their pleasure. I will tell them of the days when the first time I used a mobile phone, it looked like the Bat Phone and had to be strapped to you for it was so heavy; a complete contrast to today’s super gadgets. Throughout the years I have been working in the mobile phone industry, one thing that never seems to change is the surprises. What I mean by this is, just when you think they have thought of it all, a new piece of kit will come on the market to surprise you once again.
This one is a beauty. Orange have developed wellies that can charge your mobile, perfect for the festival season which is about the kick off properly at the end of the month. When I first went to festivals I didn’t have a mobile phone and when you lose your friends in the crowd; you really did lose your friends. You may not find them again for 6 hours or so. With the chargeable wellies that won’t be a problem thou, they work by drawing the heat from your feet through the soles and turning that heat into chargeable electricity for your phone. I think this is a great idea on so many levels:
• Quirky
• Clever
• Practical
• Makes Wellies Cool
Only gripe I can think of is that it will take away some of the festival spirit (festivals are a great place to be lost, so many interesting people to meet). Maybe that’s my age talking thou.
