There is no denying that all of us at some point wish we could throw our mobile phones out the window, down the stairs, under a car etc. Well now you can! At the UK Mobile Phone Throwing Championships! All in the aid of charity, this contest is held at the Battersea Park Athletics Track and has already been happening since the turn of the millennium in Finland.

Competitors are encouraged to bring any old mobiles they may have to be recycled. The phones that competitors actually throw are provided on the night.

With an estimated 75 million mobile phones gathering dust in drawers and cupboards across the UK, they would stretch the entire length of the Great Wall of China, nearly 5 times over! These phones will either be recycled for their materials or made as donations to poorer countries.

The next Mobile Phone throwing championship held in the UK is in August at Battersea Park, costing just £5 to enter, from 1 to 5pm’

This is an exceptional phone that set the standard for smart phones. To get set up is simple and it makes using the internet a breeze. I am always on the internet whether it is browsing, downloading or playing games, I actually use the internet on my phone as opposed to my PC. This phone is brilliant as I have no need for my iPod now either. The Apple support is top notch. To set the Wifi up from my iPhone 4 is really easy the same as everything about this phone. I have a 2 year old daughter and even she can use it to play her games. The amount of Apps that are available is unreal and they are all either free or extremely cheap. Get the iPhone 4 its brilliant!

I’ve had this phone for about a month now. I got this as my iPhone was lost, and I didn’t want to replace with another iPhone as I was bored of iTunes. The music player is brilliant, as is the built in FM radio and internet. The phone is a lot lighter than it looks but it still feels really sturdy. The camera at night is poor, although the video camera is excellent, and day time photos are superb. If you’re a music lover like me then I would strongly recommend this phone. Also Androids flexibility is a lot better when it comes to watching movies on the phone. The battery life is excellent, especially if you use the Battery Saver app that is in built in the settings. In my line of work I am really pleased that I have actually found a phone that is waterproof.

Had this phone for just over a week and it’s the best phone I have ever had, it has so many features I’ve hardly been on the app store. The battery life is excellent compared to most smart phones and lasts for about 2 days. I am a heavy user and always listening to music when I’m not browsing the web, playing games etc. I’m absolutely in love with this phone and have no regret getting a 2 year contract with Vodafone. The Sat Nav is great and comes in really handy; I have no issues with the reception or anything else either. I always used to have Nokia’s but had a change which wasn’t a good experience; I’m so pleased I have gone back to the faithful Nokia!

Just upgraded to the Mozart as I wanted something simple to use but something that not everyone had (like the iPhone) I have only had this phone for a week however it was easy to set up, feels great and is user friendly. The camera is brilliant and the fact that it has windows 7 and it is so fast to load web pages is excellent. The battery life is okay but not great but which smart phone has a good battery life at the moment?? I have set it up to receive my emails which was also easy to do and the screen is a good size and bright. I like the face that it has the FM radio however the only downside is that there is no room for memory card so you can’t expand the storage but overall this is a really good phone and I prefer it to my iPhone 3G.

I have always liked the Samsung mobile phones and never had a problem with them however due to them being more expensive and more advanced with its features I decided to get the handset insured; I have never bothered up until now as I have always thought it was a waste of money. Blackberry Curve 3G Pink Mobile Phone for the ladies…. Wow it’s fantastic!!!I wanted a nice pink girly phone however all the pink phones where not all that great, then I came across the Curve in Pink….

The phone looks great, easy to use and especially good for emails, internet use and facebook.

I have always had Nokia’s as they are easy to use however after years I fancied a change. I was slightly worried that it would be too different from what I am used to and being as I’m not great with phones thought it might be too complicated however I was so surprised and if I can work it anyone can Lol. This is a proper girly phone and I can recommend it to every single female out there!

Even though the Nokia N8 is really sturdy and the little rough surface of aluminum casing makes holding the phone in your hand easy, you can’t be too careful. The screen on the Nokia is the clearest I’ve seen!
The camera is one of the best I have ever seen on a phone. I can honestly say that I don’t need to remember to take my digital camera out with me. The video quality even recording in bad light conditions still looks really good. Make sure you look around when buying mobile phone insurance!
